How did you get started as a photographer? I started out as a print designer. Became really great friends with whom I would consider my mentor Lawrence Wittek. He understands light like no one else. He shoots primarily still life. I applied some his lighting techniques to people and liked the result, from there I expanded and came up with my own lighting techniques.
Do you remember your first professional photoshoot? What was it? No idea!
What is your "daily work" like? I try to shoot everyday.
What girls have you worked with that you know will be stars? I have a few easy ones because they are already there and a few that will be there soon. Irina K. at IMG, Siri at Trump, Johanna at Supreme, Coryse at DNA, Rachel Clark at Supreme and a new girl that everyone is going to go crazy over - Simona at Marilyn. All amazing girls.
Have you ever had a run-in with a difficult model on set? Yes. If they are difficult they go home.
Who are some of your big photographic influences? I will leave this one up to the critics. I don't have any one photographer that I feel influences my work.
Is there any work of yours that we should expect to be seeing in
magazines in the upcoming months? Sure. I shoot mostly European editorial. There are a few magazines I am excited about. New magazine Kite (Issue 1) coming out in summer this year. I also just shot a story for Wig.out of London.
What sorts of assignments are most appealing to you? Editorial stories with amazing talent.
Do you have any comments or words of advice for anyone looking to get into the photographer field? Make sure the lens cap is off. The button on the right typically is the one that takes the picture.
